Summary
Honest Weather is designed to work without an account and without third-party tracking SDKs.
What data is used
- Location data (precise location): used to fetch weather for your current location when you allow location access.
- Saved places and preferences: stored locally on your device to support favorites, alerts, and settings.
- Forecast and cache data: stored locally to improve startup speed and offline fallback behavior.
- Data protection at rest: local app files use iOS file protection attributes.
What data is not used
- No analytics tracking SDKs (for example Firebase Analytics, Adjust, Amplitude).
- No advertising identifiers for tracking.
- No account profile data is required.
Data sources
- Forecast and air quality: Open-Meteo APIs (HTTPS).
- Radar overlays: RainViewer APIs where available.
Notifications
- Weather alerts are local notifications configured by your preferences.
- Quiet hours and anti-spam guardrails limit excessive notifications.
Data export and deletion
- You can export app data from Settings > Data controls.
- You can delete all app data from this device from Settings > Data controls.
- App uninstall removes the app container and its local data under normal iOS behavior.
iCloud sync
- Optional iCloud sync is available for selected settings and saved locations.
- You can disable iCloud sync at any time in app settings.
Publication
This policy is intended for publication in App Store Connect (privacy policy URL) and project documentation. Keep this document in sync with in-app Privacy and Data controls text.
