Beta service
Deeperguard is offered as-is during public beta. Features, limits, and availability may change without notice.
Zero-knowledge service
This deployment uses a zero-knowledge architecture. Encryption and key handling occur on your devices. We operate sync and account infrastructure on ciphertext and metadata only. We cannot recover your vault password or decrypt your notes for you. If you lose your password and recovery material, encrypted content cannot be restored from our servers.
Limitation of liability
You use Deeperguard at your own risk. The service is provided as is during the public beta, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Schutten Invest is not liable for loss of data, except in case of intent or gross negligence. Your mandatory consumer rights are not affected. Keep your own backups using Export; if you lose your password and recovery codes, your encrypted notes cannot be recovered.
Acceptable use
- No illegal content, malware distribution, or attempts to disrupt the service.
- No automated abuse of registration, authentication, or Secure Send endpoints.
- Respect the storage quota assigned to your account. During the public beta, new accounts receive Pro with 5 GB encrypted storage. After beta, plan quotas apply (Basic 100 MB, Pro 5 GB).
- Do not use Secure Send or any other feature to share content that is illegal to possess or distribute.
DSA notice-and-action
Under the EU Digital Services Act, you can report allegedly illegal content hosted or transmitted through Deeperguard (including a Secure Send link).
How to report: email [email protected] with the subject line “DSA notice” (or use Contact and mark the message as an abuse report).
What a useful report includes:
- Your name and contact email
- The URL or Secure Send link you are reporting (the path is enough; you do not need to send the fragment key after
#) - A description of the illegal content or activity and why you believe it is illegal
- A statement that the notice is accurate and submitted in good faith
Because Secure Send and vault notes are end-to-end encrypted, the operator typically cannot see the content of a reported link. We can still disable or stop a Secure Send link, suspend an account, or take other action based on the report, metadata, and applicable law — without decrypting the payload.
Point of contact for authorities / DSA notices: [email protected].
Accounts
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or threaten service stability. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Data and backups
We do not guarantee recovery of lost passwords or data. Use export and backup features where available. Optional third-party destinations (iCloud Drive via share/save, Google Drive, Dropbox) receive only client-encrypted backup files; you remain responsible for those accounts and for keeping your vault password.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms as the beta progresses. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the current version, except where mandatory law requires a different process.
Termination
You can request account deletion at any time by emailing [email protected]. Self-service deletion in Settings, with a 7-day undo window, is planned. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms, abuse, legal obligation, or discontinuation of the beta. On termination, account ciphertext and metadata are removed according to our privacy policy; we still cannot recover plaintext you no longer hold keys for.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law (the Netherlands), without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Disputes may be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights to bring a claim in your own country.
